Come Back, Long Weekend!

It's sad that the long weekend has to end. All good things, huh?

We had a great fourth. On Friday we went swimming with Bryan and Adrienne and then shot over to Dothan for a quick Sam's run with DeAnne's Mom. Saturday was actually pretty busy. We ate lunch with DeAnne's family, came home, had dinner with Dad, Sherry, Josh and Kelly and then shot fireworks with a bunch of friends over at Bryan and Adrienne's house. Yesterday was great too. We just went to church and relaxed in between services.

So July is shaping up to be pretty awesome if not busy. We had a long weekend this past week. This coming weekend we're heading to Panama City for a couple of nights. We're hitting Shipwreck and the beach with Bryan and Adrienne and Taylor and Brandon. The weekend after that is our anniversary trip to Navarre and then the weekend after that is Beth Cox's wedding and the church's homecoming. Things may be crazy, but it should be a lot of fun.

Have a good Monday.

The Weekend Has Arrived

Hurray for the long weekend. As usual for holidays, I won't be posting tomorrow. We don't really have any plans for the 4th. We're supposed to eat lunch with DeAnne's family, but that's about it. At least the grass doesn't need cutting. It should be a pretty laid back time and I'm looking forward to it.

I got to play some xbox with Edwin last night and for the first time in a while we both had some pretty good rounds with Gears. We also played some Magic: the Gathering. I'm a bit disappointed with the game though as far as co-op is concerned. I was under the impression that the co-op campaign would be online but evidently it's offline only meaning you have to have someone in the same place with you in order to play the co-op campaign. It's a pretty major missing feature and I hope that they add it in with a future update to the game. I probably would have still bought the game even if I had known about this, but I'm still upset that they weren't more clear about co-op being offline only.

I'll see you all back on Monday. Have a safe and happy 4th.

Kind of Disappointing

Well for all the hype, yesterday was pretty normal. I guess that's just a testament to how prepared we were. It's good, but it was actually a little bit of a let down. That probably doesn't make any sense at all, but anyway.

DeAnne's talked about it already on her blog and I've mentioned it a time or two here, but we're pretty obsessed with Rummikub right now. DeAnne loves puzzle type things and Rummikub runs right up that alley. I guess for me, it appeals to the programmer side of me in that it uses numbers and you have to come up with a series of steps in order to do something. We've had a lot of fun playing it and have played it most every night for the last couple of weeks. It's become our new "thing" for the moment and it couldn't have come at a better time since most of the shows we watch on TV are on reruns for the summer right now. As DeAnne pointed out in her blog, you can play it online at http://www.rummikub.com.

Short and sweet. Have a good Wednesday.
